The Other Apple Founder

When we think of Apple, we think of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. We don’t think of Ron Wayne. The Chicago Tribune says Wayne, who designed the iconic logo and wrote the first manual, was terrified that “Jobs’ wild spending and Wozniak’s recurrent ‘flights of fancy’” would bankrupt the fledgling company so in 1976, he cashed in his ten percent stake for $800. He should’ve waited - today, Wayne’s shares would be worth a cool $22 billion. Now the 76-year-old Wayne sepnds his time playing penny slots and waiting for his social security checks.
