In honor of Nicolas Cage’s latest movie, “Season of the Witch,” the LA Times takes a look back at his career. But instead of focusing on the roles he’s played, the paper focuses on the many different hairstyles he’s sported. The Times commends Cage for “his love of cutting-edge grooming, extensive use of extreme wigs, bizarro manscaping and distracting dye jobs,” all of which have helped him build a repertoire of memorable characters. My favorite? His 1989 ‘do for “Raising Arizona,” a style the Times describes as “a strange mix of counterculture and middle of the road.”

Speaking of men’s hair, The Boston Globe has a great piece on the balding men who chose to bite the bullet and shave it all off. They say the Mr’ Clean references are easier to take than the “really mean jokes [that] target other solutions to thinning hair: hair plugs, comb-overs, and toupees.”
