Panetta Warns of ‘Cyber-Pearl Harbor’

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta sent out a warning yesterday about the possibility of a “cyber-Pearl Harbor,” reports the New York Times. He told a crowd in New York that an attack by foreign computer hackers could do serious damage to the country’s infrastructure, dismantling transportation, the power grid—even the government. Pentagon officials say while the threat is real, Panetta was likely stumping for a cybersecurity bill that was stalled by a group of Republicans.
