No Extras: Mystery Buyers Scoop Up 1000s of Local Newspapers

Two Long Island weeklies saw a huge spike in sales last week, says the New York Times, after two people bought up 4,000 copies, at $1.50 a pop. There’s much speculation as to why, the most popular theory being that someone was trying to suppress a story. It’s become such a mystery that the Suffolk Times obtained surveillance footage from a 7-Eleven to see who exactly their mystery buyers were. 

The action starts at about 2:23 as a woman approaches the counter with a huge stack of papers. She then goes to her car, and throws them in the trunk:
