Moon is Shrinking

The moon may not be made of cheese, but something is eating away at it says the San Francisco Chronicle. New images from an orbiting spacecraft show that the moon’s surface is shrinking. The change is too small to see from the Earth’s surface—about 300 feet over the last billion years—but scientists say it’s conclusive evidence that the moon is “no dead body in the sky.” They believe the shrinkage has been caused by a series of “moonquakes.”
