Gun Sales Spike in Colorado as Accused Killer Goes to Court

James Eagan Holmes, the man accused of killing a dozen people in a Colorado movie theater, made his first court appearance yesterday. Sporting a crazy mop of bright orange hair, the Denver Post says he didn’t speak a word. The Post notes that gun sales have risen 41 percent in Colorado since last week’s shooting and that instructors are reporting an increase in people training to qualify for a concealed-carry permit.
