Elizabeth Edwards “Gravely Ill”

There’s a sad update on the health of Elizabeth Edwards in today’s Charlotte Observer. Apparently, the 61-year-old’s cancer has progressed to her liver, leading her doctors to decide “that further treatment of her cancer would be unproductive.” Family friends describe John Edwards as “a rock” during the last few weeks and the News and Observer reports that Edwards has moved back in to the couple’s Chapel Hill home to help care for his estranged wife.
