Da-da-da-da-da-da! Composer Sues Every Pro Team in US


Da-da-da-da-da-da! Charge! If you’ve ever been to a sporting event, you know that tune. The St. Petersburg Times says what you may not know is that a Florida man, Bobby Kent, holds a copyright to it and now, he’s suing every pro sports team in the US—except for the LA Lakers. The Lakers escaped his ire because they were the only team to respond to a letter Kent sent out last year asking for compensation—the team wrote him a check for $3000.  The Da-da-da-da-da-da refrain is the last 26 notes of a piece called Stadium Doodads that Kent got a copyright for in 1980.
