Charlene Wittstock: “Prisoner Princess”

When Charlene Wittstock married Prince Albert of Monaco last weekend, she started crying. And they weren’t tears of joy. The New York Post says Grace Kelly’s successor is more than a little blue about her new husband, dubbing her the “prisoner princess.” According to an anonymous wedding guest, “People were saying that it was one of those weddings where, in 10 years time, the bride will confess on TV that she thought it was all a huge mistake, but she was overwhelmed and felt she had no choice but to go through with it.”

Wittstock’s not so happily ever after started the week before the ceremony when she allegedly tried to flee the country after finding out about a third illegitimate child Prince Albert had fathered, perhaps during the course of their relationship. It was reported that Wittstock had her passport confiscated when she tried to leave Monaco.
