At 103, Still Wielding Gavel

His only courtroom rule is no beating around the bush. And that’s not because Judge Wesley E. Brown is impatient, it’s because he’s 103 years old. “At this age, I’m not even buying green bananas,” Brown told the New York Times. Federal judges can continue to work for basically as long as they want. It’s a rule that’s been around since the average lifespan was about half was it is today. If he holds out one more year, he’ll be the oldest judge to serve on the federal bench.
