Wrong is Righted, 42 Years Later

Mary French should’ve been valedictorian at her Arkansas high school back in 1968. But because French is black, she was denied the honor. Instead, it went to a white girl. Now, 42 years later, a wrong has been righted says the Indianapolis Star. The Indiana middle school French has taught at for 20 years held a ceremony in her honor yesterday, where surrounded by family and friends, she finally gave the speech she’d memorized more than four decades ago.
