World’s Largest Solar Plant Prompts Questions

Some interesting questions are cropping up as the world’s largest solar power plant takes shape in the Mojave Desert, says the LA Times. With “170,000 garage-door sized” panels in place, scientists are wondering things like, “at what temperature might a songbird vaporize?” Or “will the glare from five square miles of mirrors create a distraction for highway drivers?” And even “can plumes of superheated air create enough turbulence to flip a small airplane?”
