Woman Fired For Being Too Attractive

She was just “too pretty for Citi” says the New York Post. Debrahlee Lorenzana says the bank fired her for being too good looking. The curvy 33-year-old woman’s lawsuit claims she was told not to wear things like turtlenecks and pencil skirts because “such clothes were purportedly ‘too distracting’ for her male colleagues and supervisors to bear.”  Lorenzana maintains she never wore anything unprofessional and her outfits were similar to those worn by her female colleagues. She was eventually let go by Citibank.

Lorenzana told the New York Daily News that she can’t help her curves: “I’m not going to go eat and gain 50 or 100 pounds because my job wants me to be the same size as everyone else.”

UPDATE She may have been fired from Citi for her curvy body, but it wasn?t the one she was born with says the New York Daily News after finding footage from a plastic surgery reality show that feature Lorenzana and her quest for size DD breasts.

The Village Voice actually broke Lorenzana’s story yesterday. It was quickly picked up by the other papers and by many TV stations. The Voice also got their hands on several photos Lorenzana’s lawyer snapped for the lawsuit.
