What’s Your Team’s Mode of Transportation?

As the NBA playoffs draw near, the Wall Street Journal decided to assign a “mode of transport” to match the persona of each team. The Bulls are christened a “freight train,” because they’ve been “gaining momentum all season,” the Celtics morph into a “stagecoach” because they’re…old and the Heat? The Journal says the most-hyped team of the season resembles, what else, a “hot air balloon.”

Here are some other good ones—but be sure to click through above for the full list:

The Knicks are a “roller coaster”: “You sign Amar’e Stoudemire, and the team starts winning. You trade for Carmelo Anthony, and the team starts losing. Up one minute, down the next. Hopefully, you won’t lose your lunch after the ride’s completion.”

The Lakers are a “Learjet”: “It must be nice to be NBA royalty, flying around in your obnoxious private jet with your 16 championship trophies—including the last two. Yes, we understand the Lakers experienced some turbulence this season. But Kobe Bryant remains the game’s most indomitable force, and is there any doubt that head coach Phil Jackson wants to retire with a 12th NBA title?”

The 76ers are a “Jetpack”: “Doug Collins returned to coaching, dusted off his lab coat and invented this up-and-coming playoff team that few thought could ever exist. After carefully examining the roster, we’re still not sure they exist. Who are these guys?”
