Westminster Contestant Has Famous Roots

The Westminster Dog Show kicks off today in New York and this morning the Times profiles Winnie, a Siberian Husky who is a descendant of Togo—one of the dogs who helped deliver the diptheria serum to Nome, Alaska in 1925. Balto is the more famous of the two dogs but the Times says Togo actually carried the serum longer than any other team did.
