Understanding Acupuncture

For the uninitiated, acupuncture can seem like a bunch of hocus pocus. But the Wall Street Journal says researchers are using modern technology to document how the ancient healing method works. And in some cases, they’ve found striking similarities to Western medicine. For example, scans have shown that the meridians - channels in which qi, or energy, travel - are located in the same position as major arteries or veins. And acupuncture pressure points are often located in the same place as “nerve bundles or muscle trigger points.”
