Twins Leave Mom to Die After Fall

They were trying to watch the BCS game when their mother slipped and fell in the living room. Twin 48-year-old brothers say that’s where they left her for three days without food and water because they couldn’t afford medical care. The Houston Chronicle says the brothers continued to live with their decomposing mother for three months before their recent arrest.

After a neighbor called authorities, worried about the elderly woman’s absence, a cop went over to the family’s house to check out the situation. When the brothers let her in to the foyer, the first thing she saw was the decomposing body on the floor. When investigators asked why the brothers had never helped their mother, they both gave the same answer: She never asked them to. Said a police spokesman: “This was definitely a lot different than the average case that we get.”
