Turkeys Gone Wild

They’re putting the wild back in turkey. Estimates for 2010 put the American turkey population at seven million. And according to USA Today, all those Toms are creating quite a to-do in the country’s suburbs, where mating season has set off “a relentless two-month quest to have sex with as many females as possible.” The paper says, much like deer, wild turkeys have come back from the brink of extinction to “thrive in predator-free suburbs.”
