The Velcro President
Written by Pat's Papers | Friday, 30 July 2010 9:41 AM

If Reagan was the Teflon president, then President Obama is the Velcro one says the LA Times. After two years of being blamed for the world’s troubles, aides are trying to protect his image by keeping the president out of the public eye. From the Gulf oil spill to the war in Afghanistan to the Greek financial crisis, the only thing that he seems able to dodge are congratulations for his legislative victories. But some say it is a situation of his own making. By encouraging Americans to set their hopes high, he is, by default, the easiest one to blame when things don’t work out. Other senior Cabinet members are being trotted out for the press but the image of Obama as Superman is a hard one to shake.
