The Restaurant Critic’s Diet

If you think it’s hard for you to lose weight, imagine how hard it is for someone whose job is eating. Hard, but definitely not impossible. Dallas Morning News restaurant critic Leslie Brenner shares how she managed to lose 28 pounds while still diligently doing her job—she calls her approach the restaurant critic’s diet.

The key, says Brenner, is burning more calories than you take in. She explains that when she had a particularly challenging day at work (think burger tastings) she compensate by eating lightly at breakfast and lunch. Or spending some extra time at the gym. The approach seemed to work—she managed a rate of one pound a week.

Brenner’s been chronicling her progress on the paper’s Eats Blog
