The Best (Imaginary) Swimming Semifinal in History

The coolest thing in any paper this morning comes from the New York Times, who set out to answer this question: “Nathan Adrian’s 100-meter freestyle won gold. But how would he do against every medalist in this event – ever?” The result is an amazing interactive chart comparing the race times for swimmers 100 years ago with yesterday’s 100 M freestyle result.
