Superman Gives Up US Citizenship

Written by Pat's Papers | Friday, 29 April 2011 10:06 AM

America will soon lose one of its most famous citizens says the New York Post. In an upcoming issue, Superman will renounce his US citizenship. The iconic superhero says that, after riding out a wave of negative publicity over his recent intervention in Iran, “‘truth, justice and the American way’—it’s not enough anymore.”
Further explaining his motives, Superman says he’s “tired of having [his] actions construed as instruments of US policy.” The move, however, might be moot: the Post points out that Superman’s adoptive parents—the Kents—never formally adopted him, making Superman perhaps the country’s most famous illegal alien.

The declaration comes in Action Comics #900
