Some Congressmen Don’t Climb Down Hill to Sleep

Some congressmen are putting the ‘house’ in House of Representatives. The Chicago Tribune says Illinois Rep. Mike Quigley is one of several congressmen who have eschewed living in an apartment for more affordable digs - their offices. Despite his $174,000 salary, Quigley has managed to fit a full-sized mattress and bed spring set into his office. He uses the House gym to shower. And during work hours, he stores his pillow and comforter in the filing cabinet. The paper says there’s no official count but at least 10 other congressmen have similar arrangements.
