If you haven’t heard the crazy Manti Te’o story check out Deadspin, which broke it yesterday. Despite a broken heart after his girlfriend died of leukemia, the Notre Dame linebacker managed to lead his team through a winning season.It was college football’s feel-good story. Except that’s all it was—a story.  The South Bend Tribune says it’s hard to know what’s actually going on here—the university is painting Te’o as the victim of a cruel Internet hoax, while Deadspin’s article suggests that he may have been a co-conspirator in the hoax.
