Snackers Want Crunch in Chips, Not Bag

They identify as crunchy but they don’t want their chip bag to do the same. The Wall Street Journal says environmentally-conscious snackers are griping about how loud the new “green” Sun Chips bag is. The sound made by the biodegradable material has been compared to both a “revving motorcycle” and “glass breaking.” One pilot who griped that the new bag was louder than “the cockpit of my jet” tested it with a sound meter and found out he was correct—the Sun Chips bag registered a 96; a regular bag of Fritos got a 77 decibel reading.

The bag has even inspired this Facebook group: “SORRY BUT I CAN’T HEAR YOU OVER THIS SUN CHIPS BAG”. More than 30,000 belong.
