Ruth Madoff Blames Bernie for Son’s Suicide

According to the New York Post, Ruth Madoff blames her husband Bernie for their son’s suicide over the weekend. She has apparently told some close friends that Mark Madoff was prompted to hang himself because of his father’s misdeeds. Other sources say the media coverage of the two-year anniversary of the collapse of Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme was too much for his son to take. He took his life in the same loft where his two-year-old son was sleeping. In a grisly sidebar, the Post calls Madoff a “one-man suicide machine” and recounts the other suicides that have been linked to him.
