Restaurant Names Itself After Racist Viral Video Rant

According to the LA Times, there’s a new Chinese take-out option. It’s called the Ching-Chong-Ling-Long Gourmet Takeout. If you’re a little uncomfortable rattling off that name, you probably haven’t seen the viral video that inspired it. Former UCLA student Alexandra Wallace became an Internet sensation when her racist rant against the “hordes of Asian people that UCLA accepts” made its way onto YouTube. The restaurant’s owner says she chose the name because the “best way to combat intolerance is through a positive cultural experience mixed in with a healthy serving of humor.”

Described on its website as the “newest, sexiest, drop-dead delicious Asian-food Delivery,” the restaurant is a partnership between an already established restaurant and a group of UCLA students.
