A new book claims that by the middle of this century, there will be more than six million centenarians living among us. The Sacramento Bee talks to author Dr. Walter Bortz about his prescription for a long and healthy life. Those in search of a fountain of youth will be disappointed - Bortz says diet and exercise are the only essentials you need to reach 100: “Fitness is a 30-year age offset, a fit person of 70 is like an unfit person of 40.”
