Punish BP Not with Boycott But by Using Less Oil

Ron Lieber’s Your Money column in the New York Times points out that punishing BP by refusing to buy gas at its stations isn’t particularly effective, because most of those stations are owned by families under franchise deals. So you mostly end up punishing your local entrepreneur instead of the multinational company. Lieber says the best way to punish BP is to figure out how to reduce your own dependency on oil.
