Protecting Your Medical Identity

There’s an interesting article in today’s Orange County Register about protecting yourself against medical identity theft. Apparently, it’s a growing problem. Experts say most victims don’t know their insurance information has been stolen until they receive notice from a collection agency about unpaid bills. The paper says you can check who has applied for insurance in your name for free at the Medical Information Bureau.
