“Priciest Eyesore Ever”

The New York Post calls it the “priciest eyesore ever.” That’s subjective. But what is true is that at $1.9 billion, the new home of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani is the most expensive residence ever built. Ambani might not take offense to the Post’s critique as it seems he set out to do something unconventional. According to the paper, each story of the 570-foot home was “made using different plans and materials, with styles and architectural elements tying it all together.” I guess that’s a good strategy if you can’t make up your mind—or you have an extra $2 billion to throw around.

The Times of India has some more details and a good picture.
Here’s a list of amenities the house will feature:

* 3 helipads
* 9 elevators
* 50-seat theater
* Private health club
* Crystal ballroom
* 168 parking spaces
* A full-time staff of 600
