Playboy Names “Far Side”-Themed Class Funniest in Nation
Written by Pat's Papers | Tuesday, 14 September 2010 9:11 AM

Playboy has named a course at Oregon State University the best in the country. And while it has nothing to do with birds, says the Oregonian, it does shine a spotlight on bees. The magazine named honor Far Side Entomology the funniest college course because it uses Gary Larson’s hilarious insect-themed cartoons to teach students about the symbiotic relationship between humans and bees. Playboy’s not the only magazine to single out the class, last year the Chronicle of Higher Education gave it a hat tip as well. Despite the praise, professor Michael Burgett says he’s not holding his breath for recognition from the school’s administrators: “I’m still waiting to get a congratulatory note from the front office, I’ll be waiting a long time.”
