Opinion: ‘Only So Much Pop Culture We Can Follow’
Written by Pat's Papers | Friday, 3 August 2012 7:07 AM

The Chicago Tribune’s Mary Schmich writes a column this morning in defense of all of us who haven’t read “50 Shades of Gray.” Or watched “Breaking Bad.” Or seen the latest political gaffe. She says it’s become a “civic obligation not only to know what’s going on everywhere all the time, but to participate in it.” But there’s only enough pop culture Schmich can handle, and she reminds us that “time is a nonrenewable resource. You can’t do everything.”
