Opinion: Everyone Wants a Work Nap

We all could use a nap at work sometimes, writes Chicago Tribune columnist Mary Schmich. So why are we so freaked out when air traffic controllers indulge in a little one? Part of it is based on our “collective fear of flying.” But it’s also because we know just how hard it is to do our jobs diligently with an inadequate amount of sleep. Instead of mandating 9 hours, instead of 8 hours between the shifts air traffic controllers work, why not sanction naps, writes Schmich, quiet rooms and all?
