Obama Shuts Out Old Media

The New York Times says President Obama has done what most of his predecessors wanted to do but couldn’t: shut out the White House press corps. But that doesn’t mean he is avoiding the public’s eye, it means he “has fundamentally altered the way a president deals with the news media.” Though he hasn’t given a news conference in seven months, he has given far more one-on one-interviews than past presidents.
