NFL Tackles Low Stadium Attendance with Perks

The NFL has created a nation of couch potatoes. USA Today says technological innovations have made the at-home viewing experience so good that the league is now having a hard time convincing fans to go to the stadium. Attendance levels shrank for the second year in a row last season—the TV audience, however, swelled to historic numbers. To combat the trend that will likely continue once the NFL starts broadcasting in 3D, teams are offering smartphone applications that feature replays, analysis, and exclusive information available only to those who make the trek.
