Newt Gingrich’s (3rd) Wife to Play Central Campaign Role
Written by Pat's Papers | Tuesday, 10 May 2011 10:29 AM

It’s the new Newt Gingrich. On the heels of the announcement that he’ll run for president in 2012, the New York Times says the former Speaker of the House’s second act is a “curious tale of Washington re-invention.” The story goes on to say Gingrich has essentially used his third wife—a woman he famously had an affair with—to serve as a character witness. The Times says Calllista Gingrich has become omnipresent in the politician’s public life: “Barely a sentence goes by without Mr. Gingrich uttering the words ‘Callista and I.’”
The Gingrich’s new platform is based on “American Exceptionalism,” the idea that the US “is unique and stands above other nations.”
