New Era of Microwave Cooking

According to the Wall Street Journal, “the microwave wants some respect.” After decades without any serious innovation, manufacturers are aiming to heat up the profile of microwave ovens with a slew of new features. The addition of water reservoirs and humidity gauges have led many companies to tout steam microwaves as a cheap alternative to steam ovens.

Historically, another problem is that not that many people are proficient in microwave cooking. Manufacturers are trying to counter that problem with a code system that allows customers to punch in a code found on certain food packages and let the microwave figure out the optimal cooking time.  You can find hundreds of codes at the website, TrueCooksPlus.com
