Navy SEALs the New Fabio

Move over Fabio, there’s a new leading man in town. The Washington Post says following their recent successes in Pakistan, Navy SEALs are the most desirable men in the world of romance novels. Calling them “superheroes without the spandex,” publishers are expecting a “flurry of Navy SEAL-themed pitches and manuscripts in the coming weeks.” It’s not just the romance industry that’s hot for information about the SEALs: Hollywood has several SEAL-related pictures in the works and merchandise sales are up 200 percent at the Navy SEALs museum in Florida.
Apparently, SEAL-themed romances debuted in the 1990s, and several have made it onto the New York Times best-seller list. Below are a couple, courtesy of Amazon:
