Nail Painting Driver Guilty of ‘Reckless Homicide’

The jury saw photos of the crime scene dripping with dark red liquid - but it wasn’t blood, it was nail polish. An Illinois woman was just found guilty of reckless homicide after hitting and killing a motorcyclist says the Chicago Tribune. What was she doing at the time of the accident? Painting her nails. The woman’s lawyer says the jury was influenced by the vanity of her distraction and that she would’ve got a lighter sentence had she been using her cell phone or eating a sandwich at the time. But the prosecutor disagreed: “She might as well have been in the back seat making a sandwich.”
