More Comsumers Get SLAPPed After Complaining Online

The New York Times says as more people go online to sites like Facebook and Yelp to complain about a business, more are getting slapped with online intimidation lawsuits. It’s even called a “SLAPP” - a strategic lawsuit against public participation. Experts say the point of a SLAPP is not necessarily to win - it’s more about silencing critics with the threat of a lawsuit.  Several states have anti-SLAPP laws and two congressmen are working on a bill that would harder for companies to file.
