Mistrial for Edwards
Written by Pat's Papers | Friday, 1 June 2012 7:46 AM

The Charlotte Observer says the most common question asked at John Edwards’ trial was, “what was he thinking?” Yesterday, the jury in the case admitted it was a question they couldn’t answer. After finding Edwards not guilty on one count, they couldn’t find consensus on the other five and a mistrial was declared. Columnist Rob Christensen says the mistrial brought back memories of when he first met the politician: “Little did I realize when I first met Edwards in 1997 that I was really looking at rocker Elton John’s ‘Rocket Man’—you know, “not the man they think I am at home ... burning out his fuse up here alone.”
