“MiFi of Your Dreams”

Rarely do I read a review and then immediately want to buy the product being discussed. But that’s exactly what happened after reading David Pogue’s review of the new MiFi device released by Virgin Mobile this week in the New York Times. Not only is Virgin offering an unlimited plan with no contract, it’s only $40 a month. And even after some serious digging in the fine print, Pogue says he cannot find a catch. The device uses Sprint’s 3G cellphone network, which has excellent coverage and speed. You turn on your service only when you want it and can do so from any computer or by calling the company’s 800 number. Pogue says if Virgin can make money from this new pre-paid model, “the mind boggles at just how overpriced the similar offerings from its rivals must really be.”

In the event I decide to retire to Hawaii, maybe this place will hire me.
