Men, Women Exercise Differently But No One Does it Right

Men and women do a lot of things differently, and exercise is one of them says the Washington Post. In short, women love cardio and for men, sweating over some weights “is a badge of honor.”  Unfortunately, neither sex has got it complete right, say experts. Part of the problem is that everyone has preconceived notions of what type of exercise is right for them: “Guys are thinking about high school even though what they learned doesn’t apply to a 40-year-old.”

The Post bases its conclusion on research culled from Weight Watchers, but all you have to do is take a gander at any gym to see it in practice: “women clump by the cardio machines, regularly reading magazines and talking, thus lessening the effectiveness of their workouts. Men congregate around the largest of weights, which they proceed to pick up even if that requires heinous form.” To correct the imbalance experts suggest men take yoga and women fit in a strength straining class.
