Mayor of San Antonio Star of Convention

Remember the name Julian Castro. The mayor of San Antonio jumped on to the national stage last night at the DNC with a rousing speech about growing up in an immigrant family. “Texas may be the only place where people still have bootstraps,” he said, “and we expect people to pull themselves up by them.” The San Antonio Express-News notes Castro is the first Latino to give the keynote speech at the DNC.
