Marlins “Profit From Disgrace”

Greg Cote of the Miami Herald says it’s obvious that the Florida Marlins are hoping “that P.T. Barnum was right about a sucker being born every minute.” The team is selling the unused tickets from last weekend’s game against the Phillies where the pitcher for Philadelphia, Roy Halladay, threw a perfect game.  Cote writes in his scathing column that the move commemorates “their day of ignominy, profiting from being on the wrong side of history.” And, to add insult to injury, the Marlins will continue selling tickets at full-price until they reach 75,000, which is how many seats a full stadium holds. Problem is, there were originally only 37,000 tickets on sale for Saturday’s game.
