Low-Calorie Diet Doesn’t Improve Longevity

For 25 years, scientists have kept a group of monkeys on a severely reduced-calorie diet, in hopes that they would live longer. In fact, some of the scientists were so convinced that the low-calorie diet was the path to longevity that they started severely restricting their own diets. Turns out, they were wrong, says the New York Times. The skinny monkeys didn’t live any longer than the control group. The take away? Eat up!
