Lindsey Vonn Injured

She’s been the glamorous face of the US Olympic team for the past few weeks. It was just yesterday that the New York Daily News chose Lindsey Vonn’s Sports Illustrated swimsuit pose for its lead sports story. But just a few hours later, she announced she was injured and the “Go for Gold” headline didn’t seem so appropriate. Daily News columnist Filip Bondy says she brought on the high expectations for gold herself. He writes: “You don’t pose the pose if you can’t ski the slope.”
UPDATE: Friday’s papers say Vonn got an extra day of recovery time thanks to foggy weather. Click here to see the update on her Facebook page and a great USA Today story on her support team known as the “Vonntourage.”
