Luna the Lamprey to Tweet

It ain’t easy to love a lamprey. The ‘blood-sucking eel-like creatures” have “three fangs and gaping sucker mouths” says the San Francisco Chronicle. But scientists are hoping a new ambassador on Twitter—Luna the Lamprey—can help educate people on the plight of these endangered species. Says the scientist behind the project: “We decided, well, if a cobra can tweet, why can’t a lamprey.”
