LA Builds Parks to Fight Sexual Offenders

Los Angeles is building what may be its smallest park. At one-fifth of an acre, it can barely hold two jungle gyms, says the LA Times. But that’s not the point—the point is to force a group of sexual offenders who live near the new park to move. The Times says the city’s strategy to use parks as a weapon against sexual offenders—state law says they can’t reside without 2,000 feet of one—has some wondering if the plan violates the offenders’ constitutional rights.
